Known as the "joyful saint," Philip drew the people of Rome back to God with humor, warmth, and obvious love. He gathered priests and laypeople into the Oratory for prayer, music, and conversation. He believed holiness should be attractive, not grim. He is sometimes called the second apostle of Rome.
