St. Clare of Assisi
Feast Day · August 11
Inspired by Francis, the young noblewoman Clare slipped away from her family to give her life to Christ in poverty. She founded the Poor Clares and led them for decades, even defending her convent in prayer when the city was threatened. She held to a life of simplicity and joy. She is patron of those who long for a single-hearted life.

First Time?
You're welcome here.
Here are a few things we tell everyone before their first Sunday, so nothing feels unfamiliar.
- Can I receive Communion?
- Holy Communion is for Catholics in a state of grace who are prepared to receive it, but you are welcome to come forward with your arms crossed for a blessing, or simply stay in your pew and pray with us.
- How do I become Catholic?
- The first step towards becoming a Catholic starts with a meeting with our priest. Please call the front office or go in person to schedule a meeting.
- What should I wear?
- There is no strict dress code for attending Mass, but we encourage you to dress respectfully, as the Holy Mass is a time of sacred worship.
- I'm bringing kids.
- Please do. Little ones are always welcome. The Kenny Room, located to the right of the main entrance, is available if you fear that they will be disruptive.

Knights of Columbus Pancake Breakfast after both Masses on Sunday, August 16. Net proceeds go to the victims of the Venezuelan earthquake. All are welcome!
Harvest Give-Away: if you have extra fruit and vegetables, bring them to the church foyer to share from August 29 onward.
Mary's Statue Replacement Campaign is being coordinated by the CWL. To support the project, make your donation to the CWL and indicate it is for the Mary statue replacement.
